M1 Instructor Training

Description: Your choice will elevate the safety of the clients we care for, both directly and indirectly. This is done through the effective and trusted methods being taught to you within the training you are here to learn. Rooted from passive defense arts, our instruction will show you how to focus on interventions that direct both the mind and body away from physical contact. This program is a must for anyone who desires to feel more confident and empowered within their own abilities to react properly when faced with an unexpected or potentially harmful situation, as well as to develop a cohesive and productive team of individuals to work among.

M2 Instructor Training

Description: In the event that the intervention becomes physical in nature, the program will then address and provide a self defensive methodology derived from proven evasive and defensive arts in order to protect oneself humanely and safely. The MAB methodology will help effectively manage assaultive situations through individual or group response. Energies are focused on the higher rate of success of avoiding a physical encounter between employees and the aggressive individual, and limits the liability of the standard, single step de-escalation protocol.

Why Take This Course: Following the training, attendees will be able to feel more comfortable with knowing how to properly recognize those warning signs of potential crisis within the workplace. At the same time, staff will gain the invaluable physiological element of understanding why we humans react the way we do when faced with crisis moment and how that reaction might provoke or escalate the situations we’re faced with.

Water Safety

Description: Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death for people 0-44 years of age. Two main causes are swimming and boating activities. 85% of those affected are males. Almost all knew how to swim and many of the drowning took place within g10 feet of safety and are people who did not intend on being in the water. Here you learn the safety measures to take around water and what objects can be used to help increase  your safety.

Why Take This Course: You learn to help yourself and others to be safe around or in water. This course will teach you how to survive if  you start drowning and how to help someone else in that position. Knowing the safety basics for boating and why wearing a PFD (Life Jackets) could potentially save your life. Drowning is called the silent killer and how to recognize signs of drowning.

What Will I Leave With?

  • Following and knowing the swimming safety rules
  • Knowing what safety equipment to have on board a boat
  • Knowing the prevention measures to take like visual supervision of the pool at all times

Blood Borne Pathogens

Description:  For those who risk on-the job exposure to blood and other bodily fluids, the course teaches how blood borne pathogens are spread. You’ll learn how to avoid exposure and what to do if exposed to infectious material. After taking this class, be sure to talk to your employer about your workplace’s specific policies and procedures. Those who complete the training receive a Blood borne Pathogens Training certification valid for one year.

Why Take This Course:  Learn to safeguard employees who have a reasonably anticipated occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. Without proper preparation in blood diseases and airborne pathogens, costly OSHA and state-specific regulatory fines could be levied. American Heart Association BLS Course

Description: Basic Life Support (BLS) is the foundation for saving lives after cardiac arrest. This video-based, instructor led course is held in a classroom setting where it teaches both single-rescuer and team life support skills. BLS is for healthcare professionals including but not limited to; physicians, nurses, paramedics, medical students in training, and therapists, members of the public, law enforcement, schools. Course is approximately 4 hours including passing a written exam and skills test to receive a BLS completion card.  

 

Why Take This Course: BLS teaches healthcare professionals how to stay calm and focused during a life threatening emergency. In this course you learn hands on care from your instructor how to provide proper techniques for CPR and use of AED life support skills on a victim. Not only will you improve the chances of the victim’s survival but you will take home leadership and confidence when applying these life saving skills.

ASHI CPR and First Aid

 Description: CDS Rescue Training CPR, AED, and First Aid for Children, Infants, and Adults provides an ideal training solution for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches, construction companies and others required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children and adults. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting. Difference to other CPR class offered is this class distributes the certified EMSA Stickers which some professionals need compared to our CDS cards.

 

Why Take This Course: CDS CPR, AED and First Aid helps students develop basic knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. The program is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and is consistent with the recommendations of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the standards for First Aid and CPR training of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Public Health Association, and National Resource Center for Health and Safety in child Care and Early Education.

Dementia and Alzheimer’s

Description: Dementia is groups of symptoms that can be caused by over 60-70 disorders. Syndrome which refers to progressive decline in intellectual functioning severe enough to interfere with persons normal daily activities and social relationships. Marked by progressive declines in; memory, visual spatial relationships, performance of routine tasks, language and communication skills, abstract thinking, and ability to learn and carry out mathematical calculations. Alzheimer’s is the most common type of irreversible dementia.

Why Take This Course: If you have someone in your family or work with clients who have been or show signs of dementia and Alzheimer’s this course will fully educate you. You will understand the two types of dementia. Knowing the major risk factors and understanding an episode of delirium and how it is more than just an inconvenience. The causes of dementia and why. 20% of those over 80 years of age have severe dementia and 5% of those over 65 years of age have severe dementia while 15% have mild dementia.

4 Hour - MAB® Clinical Observation and Development Exercises (MABCODE)

Prerequisites: Current 8 Hour MAB® - Initial or 4 Hour MAB® - ReCertification

This course designed to add to an existing MAB program by providing targeted instruction to safety response teams in the areas customized to meet the facilities current training needs. It is designed specifically to enhance team safety and response to verbally and physically combative patients in Security, Mental Health, and Medical Facilities.

These programs are equivalent to the training programs developed and administered by the American Heart Association, ® Inc., Health and Safety Institute and the American National Red Cross.
